America Honors Recovery is Faces & Voices of Recovery's annual awards gala which celebrates and honors the most influential recovery community leaders and organizations. The event salutes the life and legacies of four dynamic recovery trailblazers who have dedicated their lives to removing barriers for individuals and families affected by addiction - William L. White, Dr. Vernon E. Johnson, Joel Hernandez and Lisa Mojer-Torres.
Voice of Recovery Award
The Voice of Recovery award is presented to an outstanding public figure who has been brought greater visibility and awareness to recovery by sharing their story publicly.
Lisa-Mojer Torres Award
The Lisa-Mojer Torres Award honors a tenacious fighter who believed in the dignity and rights of every person. Her inquiring and challenging mind offered new insights and by example, she encouraged us to stand up and speak out on behalf of all pathways to recovery, including the use of medications. She was instrumental in the founding of Faces & Voices of Recovery. In her service as our first board chair, her leadership and presence at our helm contributed to a significant shift in understanding about addiction recovery and the need to end policies and practices.
William L. White Distinguished Lifetime Achievement Award
The William L. White Distinguished Lifetime Achievement Award honors the tremendous contributions made to the recovery advocacy movement, in honor of William L. White, renowned recovery historian and author.
