A FOCUS ON SOLUTIONS-A MONTHLY VIRTUAL LEARNING COMMUNITY

WHO: Florida Alcohol and Drug Abuse Association, Peer Support Coalition of Florida, Inc., Floridians for Recovery, The Florida Department of Children and families, and Faces & Voices of Recovery are pleased to announce this opportunity for stakeholders to have the chance to share information, updates, and resources. Anyone interested in supporting the development of recovery community organizations is welcome to join! There is not registration necessary. 

WHAT: Please join us in this virtual community for a brief informational presentation followed by updates and discussion regarding the development of recovery community organizations in Florida.

RECOVERY AMBASSADOR TRAINING

Join the Movement!  Be the Solution!

This training is a combination of Faces & Voices of Recovery's Recovery Ambassador, Our Stories Have Power: Recovery Community Messaging, and the Science of Addiction & Recovery training curricula.

TARGET AUDIENCE: All community members are invited to participate in this FREE two-day workshop made possible through funding from the Florida Department of Children and Families. People in recovery are especially encouraged to engage in this initiative to grow and lead the recovery community movement in Florida.

LEARN ABOUT: The myths and facts about addiction; stigma and discrimination; the science behind the recovery process; using personal stories to raise awareness; effective advocacy; building community connections to strengthen recovery; Innovative recovery support services; creating a recovery-ready community; ways to get involved.

NOTE: Each two-day training is 9:00 am - 5:00 pm both days.  Lunch is on your own.

RCO BOOTCAMP

Recovery Community Organization (RCO) 

INVITATION ONLY! Free training for new and emerging Recovery Community Organizations (RCOs) in Florida. Ideal for new staff, board members and volunteers. An RCO is a non-profit organization or program led by the addiction recovery community providing advocacy, education and non-clinical peer-based recovery support services.

Accreditation 201: Understanding the Standards
This webinar is designed to give you a deeper understanding of the standards. This session is designed to: describe the philosophy on which the CAPRSS accreditation system is based Identify the elements of the CAPRSS standards taxonomy and how they relate, describe the core domains and standards and will discuss how peer reviewers--and PRSS programs-- will use standards, criteria, and elements of performance in the accreditation process.
