Austin Wright

Austin Wright works as a peer support specialist for Rebel Recovery FL, a non profit harm reduction and peer support agency in Palm Beach County, Florida. He manages the RADD (Resilience Against Drug Deaths) program at Rebel, providing community education and crucial harm reduction services for people who use drugs as well as those working with people who use drugs around the county. He has worked in harm reduction, at various capacities, for over 3 years and oversees the Narcan distribution program for Rebel Recovery FL, one of the state’s largest distributors of Naloxone. As a staunch advocate for harm reduction services, sensible drug policy, and multiple pathways to recovery, Austin identifies both as a person in recovery from chaotic substance use as well as a person who uses drugs. He is currently pursuing a Masters in Social Work at Florida Atlantic University and plans to continue building out Rebel Recovery’s RADD program for years to come. When he is not providing harm reduction education and training for the community, distributing Narcan, informing participants on safer use strategies, and helping individuals test their substances for Fentanyl and other potentially harmful drug contaminants, Austin enjoys fishing, surfing, reading, playing music, and going to shows with friends.
