Ricardo Bowden

Florida Recovery Project Mentor.  Mr. Ricardo Bowden is the Executive Director of Peer 360 Recovery Alliance serving Arenac, Bay, Midland, Saginaw, Tuscola, Huron, and Shiawassee counties in Michigan. In addition he is a self-employed, independent contractor providing HIV and SUD prevention motivational speaking in public schools and on college campuses. Ricardo has been a volunteer and professional provider of HIV and SUD related services for the past 23 years.

Ricardo received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Urban Studies from Michigan State University in 1975, a Masters Degree in Public Administration obtained at MSU in 1979, and holds current international and Michigan Certification Board for Addiction Professionals (MCBAP) certifications as a Prevention Consultant, an Addictions Counselor, and as a Peer Recovery Mentor. Mr. Bowden is a provider of training to recovery coaches and other SUD professionals. He is an approved provider of the Connecticut Community for Addiction Recovery Coach Academy and other CCAR developed curriculums for the past eight years. He is also a member of the State of Michigan trainers’ team implementing the Michigan Certified Peer Recovery Coach model developed in 2018.

Mr. Bowden is a husband of 18 years, a father to a 27 year old son, and a grandparent.  He utilizes physical fitness as key component of his personal recovery pathway which includes bicycling, spinning, swimming, racquetball, strengthening exercises and weightlifting.  Ricardo enjoys traveling, camping, dancing, and jazz.

Ricardo is a person in long term recovery. He has been consistently free from all drugs (including alcohol) for 22 years.
