DESCRIPTION:Join us for an interactive community forum exploring how effective peer supervision strengthens the overdose prevention workforce and helps reduce opioid- and stimulant-related fatalities. Panelists will share real-world challenges\, strategies\, and lessons learned from supervising peer support professionals\, and how lived experience shapes their approach to leadership and workforce development. \nWhat Will Be Discussed \n\nWhat effective supervision of peer support professionals looks like in practice\nPreventing burnout\, secondary traumatic stress\, and turnover among peer staff\nHow lived experience informs supervision\, leadership\, and organizational culture\nOrganizational policies and practices that build strong supervision structures\nConnections between supervision quality\, engagement\, and overdose prevention outcomes\nCommunity perspectives and shared solutions through facilitated discussion\n\nKey Takeaways \nParticipants will gain practical insights into supporting and retaining peer professionals\, and will leave having identified at least one concrete step their organization can take to strengthen peer supervision. \n\n\n\n\nFunding for this initiative was made possible (in part) by grant no. 1H79TI088037 from SAMHSA.
