Missouri Coalition of Recovery Support Providers (MCRSP)
Missouri Coalition of Recovery Support Providers (MCRSP)
Jefferson City, Missouri 65109
RCO Mission Statement
To identify, unite, mobilize, and empower grassroots recovery support providers to help people break their cycles of failures fueled by mental health challenges and harmful addictions.
Services Offered
Serves as a statewide voice for peer, faith-based and community recovery organizations in Missouri, representing the recovery community in the media, before elected officials and government agencies. MCRSP advocates for recovery support services funding, accredits recovery homes, collects data and publishes papers that promote the recovery community. This includes hosting conferences and trainings, working with national and local organizations with similar goals, and working through regional affiliated organizations that bring together treatment and recovery organizations to promote better service delivery to people seeking or living in recovery from substance use disorders. Member organizations provide a broad range of services, including recovery groups, individual counseling, case management, transitional housing, and operating recovery community centers.
Proudest Accomplishment
In April 2018, the federal Access to Recovery (ATR) program ended. For 14 years leading up to that point, recovery support services in Missouri were funded solely through the federal ATR program. MCRSP advocated before the Missouri legislature to secure a dedicated line item in the state’s budget for recovery support services. The line item is now part of the core budget of the state’s Department of Mental Health and continues to fund recovery support services with state general revenue funds on an annual basis.
