St. Joseph Mercy Hospital Education Center Auditorium, 5305 Elliott Drive, Ypsilanti, Michigan, 48197
The Dawn Farm Education Series is a FREE annual series providing helpful, hopeful, practical information about addiction, recovery, family concerns and related issues. This unique program, now entering its 27th year, is designed to reduce the misinformation, secrecy, shame and stigma that prevent people with addiction and their families from getting help and getting well, and to help create a community culture that supports recovery. The series is designed to have broad appeal for diverse audiences; anyone with a personal or professional interest is welcome, and each program provides free CEUs for addiction professionals. Programs are held on the third, fourth and fifth Tuesdays from September through May (excluding December.) No registration is required. Topics will include relapse prevention, co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders, family concerns, spirituality, tobacco cessation, suicide prevention, trauma, grief and loss, mindfulness, collegiate recovery, gratitude in recovery, “personal medicine,” intervention, health care for people in recovery, pain management and addiction, and other recovery-related topics.
