Recovery Stories
Michael's Story

Before getting clean, I weighed 108 pounds, I’ve spent a few times of my life as a homeless person living on the subways of NYC and was an outcast from my family.
I entered rehab in January of 1999, and after a few relapses, finally got clean on 8/10/1999 and remained clean since.
As a person in recovery, I have had the pleasure of being a father of two wonderful children that have never seen me high. I have had many ups and downs. I entered college at 46 years old and graduated at 50. I started working in the addiction/recovery field in 2013 and now, I am a drug and alcohol treatment specialist in a state prison. Being clean gives me the opportunity to continue my education, help others, be a great father to my children and to continually grow as a person.
