Rowan Larkin

Rowan Larkin joined Faces & Voices as a Program Assistant in February 2024. They graduated from Ithaca College in 2019 with a BA in Sociology, and minors in Asian American studies and Women’s and Gender studies. They are particularly interested in the ways that race, gender, and culture intersect and inform our experiences as humans.

While addiction does not care who you are or where you came from, a person’s identity and experiences can make them more vulnerable to addiction, and make recovery less accessible, less equitable, and less humanizing. As an openly queer, trans person of color, Rowan seeks to prioritize and empower those who are the most marginalized and vulnerable of their communities, and ensure that their voices are heard and their needs are met. When approaching their work, Rowan keeps in mind the values of equity, inclusion, compassion, and always listening and learning.

In their free time, Rowan enjoys thrifting, radical self-expression, planning their next tattoo, and making music with their band and chosen family. Their motto is “Keep going, keep growing.”
