[Indiana Only] Virtual Learning Community: Ethics and Boundaries for Recovery Support Professionals (3 Hour Training)
VIRTUAL: This 3-hour course introduces ethical codes of conduct and peer roles in the context of peer support services. Ethical codes can become muddied when working with human beings struggling with obstacles like addiction and mental health conditions. Managing boundaries can be especially challenging when delivering peer support services. This course reviews ethical considerations, the core competencies and skills for recovery support services (stages of change, motivational interviewing, cultural awareness, trauma-informed care), and provides activities for practicing ethical conduct when delivering those services. Participants will be able to define ethics in the context of recovery support services; understand core competencies and skills for recovery support services; and learn skills for providing ethical services.
