Recovery Leadership Summit (RLS)
Every June, Faces & Voices of Recovery hosts its flagship leadership conference. RLS is sponsored by major national recovery and wellness-centered organizations and attended by addiction field experts, peer support professionals, and industry giants like SAMHSA. The location alternates every year between Washington, D.C. and other major cities across the U.S. In 2024, over 450 of our peers, allies, friends, and colleagues joined us in Denver, CO.

The AHR Gala Dinner is an annual event hosted during Recovery Month. The gala is an opportunity for recovery professionals to network and dine with change-makers and celebrate the broader progress we’ve made as a community. AHR recognizes individual trailblazers who make it their mission to de-stigmatize addiction and normalize recovery.

The Recovery Month luncheon is held every September in honor of National Recovery Month, an annual observance dedicated to people with lived experience around substance use and mental health disorders. The luncheon is held in Washington, D.C., in the presence of leaders in the recovery field and advocates pushing for policy change and legislative inclusion on Capitol Hill.
International Recovery Day (IRD)
International Recovery Day is an annual global celebration dedicated to promoting all recovery pathways from substance use disorders and raising public awareness. Initially founded in 2019 by John Winslow as International Recovery Day, Inc., this event is celebrated on September 30th to bookend Recovery Month. Its purpose is to unite the recovery community worldwide, encouraging storytelling, advocacy, and support for individuals affected by addiction and the people who love them.
