Recovery Month

Recovery Month, started in 1989, is a national observance held every September to recognize the importance of evidence-based treatment and recovery practices, support the strong recovery community, and honor the tireless work of recovery service providers and community members that make recovery possible.

In the years since Recovery Month launched, we've partnered with SAMHSA to increase public awareness surrounding mental health and substance use disorder recovery.

Check out what SAMHSA is doing to support recovery and share their materials within your community. Remember, with the right treatment, support, and resources, recovery is possible!
