Assisting the Re-entry Community: Illinois Only

  • This event has passed.
Date February 22, 2023
Time 2:00 pm - 5:30 pm EST

Faces & Voices of Recovery invites professionals in the state of Illinois to a FREE training. In conjunction with the Illinois Department of Human Services we are proud to offer this training session aimed at explaining the challenges faced by those in the Re-entry community.

For many, incarceration can be a deeply traumatic experience. Often those exiting institutions are ill-equipped to adapt to changes they have missed and people re-entering society after being incarcerated face a unique and particular set of challenges. These barriers only compound the frustrations of people looking to re-acclimate to society and often are not understood by those without similar experiences. This dynamic training session will be led by facilitators with first-hand experience who are trauma-informed and community-oriented. Session-goers will walk away with a deeper understanding of how to help those in the re-entry community adjust and overcome common problems they face.

Date and Time: Wednesday, February 22nd, 2022 from 2:00 pm – 5:30pm **EST
