Introducing the SAMHSA Program to Advance Recovery Knowledge
We are thrilled to announce the launch of the SAMHSA Program to Advance Recovery Knowledge (SPARK), a new national technical assistance center to support transformational, recovery-oriented change for every state, tribal, and territorial behavioral health system in the U.S.
Through SPARK, we will forge partnerships to support all people, families, and communities impacted by mental health, substance use, and behavioral health challenges in pursuing recovery, resiliency, and wellness. SPARK collaborations will include state, tribal, and local authorities; people in recovery from mental health and substance use conditions; and family members, caregivers, children, and youth. Our charge is to embed recovery-oriented approaches in behavioral health systems and address systemic inequities that disproportionately impact access to recovery supports and services for under-served and under-resourced populations and communities. Our work will focus on technical assistance to strengthen infrastructure and capacity development, advance behavioral health equity, bolster organizational and leadership development, and provide training and resources.
C4 Innovations is proud to lead this SAMHSA initiative with Faces & Voices of Recovery, Alliance for Rights and Recovery (formerly NYAPRS), and National Association of State Mental Health Program Directors. Additional partners include the National Council for Mental Wellbeing, Center for Applied Research Solutions, and Advocates for Human Potential, along with a national faculty and steering committee and other expert consultants.
Stay tuned for updates on events and more information about training and technical assistance opportunities in the coming weeks.
SPARK is supported by SAMHSA’s Office of Recovery to advance recovery across the nation for people with mental health and/or substance use conditions.
