Advocate

Faces & Voices is dedicated to championing policies that enhance recovery and create equality for all who are affected by addiction. We strive to be your voice in the political arena, advocating for public policies that recognize and support recovery as a personal journey and a societal responsibility.

Recovery Advocacy Makes a Monumental Impact

For lives to improve and communities to benefit, recovery must be accessible, everywhere, to any person who needs it. If you’re in recovery, or interested in improving communities through recovery advocacy, you can help. Because we are living our own recovery stories and know recovery is possible, we are uniquely qualified advocates.

For example, our Advocacy, Research & Innovation work brought much needed increases to programs housed under the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA), including the Building Communities of Recovery (BCOR) Program, which received an increase of $3 million.

However, our recovery advocacy efforts fell short of establishing a set-aside within a $1 billion+ SAMHSA SAPT Block Grant mandating 10% of funds be dedicated to recovery. The provisions passed the House of Representatives and appeared in a Senate funding bill but were not included in the final spending omnibus bill. Join us, be an advocate, and help us get that done, and more.

Public Policy & Advocacy

Together, we are a force for change.

Faces & Voices is dedicated to championing policies that enhance recovery and create equality for all who are affected by addiction. We strive to be your voice in the political arena, advocating for public policies that recognize and support recovery as a personal journey and a societal responsibility.

Our role is to be active and engaged, pushing for reforms, backing legislation, and influencing decisions that align with our mission of advancing recovery. We are bold, purposeful, and constantly growing to ensure that our actions make a positive impact on society.

We have made significant strides through tireless efforts and partnerships. Through the passage of parity laws, advocating for Recovery Month, or campaigning for increased funding for recovery support services, we’ve been there, together, using our voice.

However, we know that our work isn’t done yet. The challenges are many, and our commitment is steadfast. The fight for a more equitable and compassionate society for all of us continues.
