Kenneth D. Smith, Ph.D., is a public health economist and faculty member in the Department of Nutrition and Public Health Sciences at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. His research focuses on the economic sustainability of the peer recovery workforce, with a specific interest in Recovery Community Organizations (RCOs) and the policy implications of Medicaid reimbursement. A graduate of Johns Hopkins University, Dr. Smith is the author of “The Wages of Peer Recovery Workers” (published in Critical Public Health) and co-author of the Faces & Voices of Recovery position paper, “Unlocking the Potential of Recovery Community Organizations and Peer Recovery Support Services.” For more information Dr. Smith can be contacted at ksmit354@utk.edu.
